It has been a week since I have returned from The Big Apple. I miss it already!

I can’t believe I did so much in a week! The time literally flew by but I think it was more to do with the fact that I was still running on UK time (plus 5 hours to New York time)

Time Square

Good morning world! Its 7:42am here in a very dull London.

I’m finally back in the UK! I miss New York already!

Day 7 was filled with shopping and exploring the streets one more time. The sun seemed to shine on the last day which was just fabulous! It’s a shame the rain didn’t stop while we were there!

Yesterday was filled with a last minute spree of Times Square and fifth avenue.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my trip and shall fill you in properly later.

I actually have work tomorrow which I am now dreading!

Good morning world! It’s 10.30am here in New York!

Just a quick update as to what I did yesterday. We went to the Woodbury premium outlets. I was so excited beforehand that I think it was more of a let down when we arrived. It was chucking it down with rain and just miserable. I did manage to get a few bargains but nothing special.

Yesterday was such a chilling day. We have walked almost 19k steps daily! We went around the shops and headed home.

Today is another day of shopping. Fifth avenue here we come!

Good morning world! It’s 9.30 am here in a dull New York morning :(

Yesterday I went uptown to where the museums are in New York.

We go past Lincoln square and past most of central park. Central park is HUGE to say the least!

First stop was the Guggenheim and then the metropolitan museum of art and history? Both were nice to see but I am so not an arty person. If there was a museum of Apple I’d be the first one there. Each to their own.

Also on the way home we went past all of fifth avenue. Amazing and I wish I could spend all my money there!

Lastly we went to the top of the Rockefeller at night. Amazing views of the city!

Today I am off to Woodbury to shop for my life :D

Morning world! It’s 10am in New York right now. I finally managed to eat Golden Grahams this morning, they are the best!

Yesterday we visited Ground Zero. It’s still scary walking past what we saw on the television 9 years ago. There’s a peaceful ambience around the area. There are actually two new towers being built where the old towers were. One will have a memorial museum and both will have offices as before. I can’t imagine how people felt on the day but it definitely brings a chill down my spine.

Near this area is Wall Street in the Financial District. It’s basically buildings that look good!

I visited Radio City Music Hall. Again it was strange to be here as I always see it on tv, but I was actually there! Just round the corner is the Magnolia Bakery. This isn’t the actual Sex and the City one but it is related? I think? I bought a cheesecake from here which is so fattening but delicious!

Literally near this is the Rockefeller building. We managed to get to the top of the rock. The view is amazing! The photo opportunities are endless! I am going there tonight to see how it is in the night!

I also visited Madam Tussauds which is like a few blocks from where I live. It’s quite small and most of the celebrities look different. Kim Kardashian is the only one that looks exactly like the real one.

After this we headed to the Empire State Building. We got to the 86th floor and saw New York at night. Simply breathtaking is all I can say!

We also popped into Macy’s. I wasn’t impressed with most of what they had in there but maybe that’s just me!

On a side note I’m sick of eating chips, cheese, chicken, burgers, pizzas and general junk food! There is no healthy option I think. It’s the same everywhere you go whether it’s Wendy’s or somewhere more classier. It gets a little repetitive.

Today I am off to central park and the museums! I can’t wait!

Good morning world!

Another early morning, 6:47am and I am almost ready to be a tourist again!

Where do I start? Yesterday was fabulous! Luckily we booked New York passes from the UK which allow entrance to certain attractions as well as the hop on and off bus tours for a number of days. We bought the 3 day passes with the bus too.

We started off the day by visiting the Statue of Liberty. It’s roughly on the other side of town to where we stay. The statue looks so tiny from just before the river.

You have to take a ferry ride to see the statue up close. Before you get to go on the ferry you have to go through strict security just like airports, due to obvious reasons. This holds things up a lot and the staff telling you where to go in the queue are so rude! Maybe he was having a bad day! It’s much colder near the river and waiting for what seemed like ages wasn’t good!

We finally got there and the view is amazing! The ferry takes about 30 minutes and stops on the little fort that Ms Liberty stands on. From here you can go to Ellis island and then head back to New York.

From visiting the Statue of Liberty we headed to China town and little Italy. The choice of Chinese food here is crap to say the least! It is a little scary going past also as not many tourists stop over here.

From here soho is very near. All the posh boutiques and bloomingdales are here. We visited the apple store and the Dash store. Everything is so expensive here, it’s like the side streets of Oxford Street.

We got the last bus home and were in Times Square at 7.30pm. It’s an awesome view at night! We were stopped by two local comedians who were out to sell their show tickets. One looked like Will Smith! Their humour wasn’t all that lol

We were so tired we ended up eating at our hotel and also having a unique cocktail. Tiredness and adrenaline with alcohol got us a little tipsy, oops!

Today is again more sightseeing and cramming as much as we can in the next two days!

Morning world! It’s 6.40am on day 3 in the city that never sleeps!

Yesterday can only be described as awesome. I started the day off by visiting Times Square. I still can’t believe I am here still. It’s one of those ‘pinch me if it’s real’ moments.

Times Square is amazing. The shops, the people, the view is just amazing. The pictures you see do not justify the place enough! It has a very Leicester square kind of feel which is great. I think I’ve never taken so many pictures at one time!

I finally met the lovely Aimless Wanderer and had a great time exploring and having lunch with her. It was great to finally meet her and talk in real life. Hopefully we will meet again back at home.

AW walked with us to Union Square which is like 30 minutes from Times Square (I think!) we managed to go to a few boutiques and find a few dresses :)

On the way to Union Square we went past Bryant Park and the fountain there. Everywhere you go there is an awesome view!

We by accident went past the flat iron building which is awesome! I say by accident because we just walked past and didn’t realise until we saw it! Macy’s is also near the flat iron building but we’ll be saving the shopping for later ;)

We managed to get a cab up to the united nations building but we couldn’t actually go inside, boo!

Yesterday it chucked it down with rain for pretty much all of the day! It is safe to say the rain here is on another level to how it is back at home! I was soaked; shoes, hair, jacket, everything!

I also managed to try the $1 pizza slices here and the portions are huge! I almost ate two full slices! The portions here are huge to say the least! If I don’t put on any weight whilst being here I’ll be surprised!

Also getting cabs in this city is ridiculous! I managed to get 5 cabs but all said no to taking us back into Manhattan from the United Nations building! I was soaked and still tried my best to get a cab! We spoke to a local here who said they shouldn’t do this and we should tell them we’ll report them to the TLC!

Whilst being in our hotel we have watched a fair amount of tv. All of the channels are full of adverts and food adverts! (no wonder why most Americans are fat!) crazy! All this aside I love this city, so much to do all in close proximity to where we live!

Today is full of more tourist activity, I can’t wait :D

Good morning! It’s 6.50am as I type this on my iPhone here in the Garment District in New York.

Where shall I start? Well the flight from Heathrow to JFK was amazing. Possibly the best I’ve ever experienced. I flew with Virgin Atlantic. The staff were extremely helpful and the service was great. Checking in online makes the process so much easier! All we had to do was check our bags in.

On board we had snacks and then the main meal. After the meal we had tea/coffee and then ice cream followed by a cookie or brownie. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much! The food was amazing!

On arriving at JFK we had to go through a security check and there were so many people waiting. It was hot and we were tired! Finally we got to the security check which involved finger prints for both hands and an iris scan. This took an hour due to the waiting.

We left the airport only to have to wait another hour to get a yellow cab to manhattan. There was a huge queue again!

Our turn finally arrived. All the cab drivers looked foreign! Our cab driver was really friendly. It took an hour to get to our hotel due to traffic.

We finally arrived at the hotel. The place is awesome! iMacs at reception and free wifi! Our room is awesome and we’re on the 13th floor. I’m a couple of blocks away from Times Square!

I managed to see the places near us but I was so tired we fell asleep at 9pm local time!

Today (Sunday) will hopefully be more proactive. I shall keep you posted :)

It was too big to uplod onto ths site but check out the pictures I took here

I absolutely love my new Sony NEX 3 camera. I can not wait to take pictures in New York and I have been told by a reliable photographer that the camera is great :)
