I said I’d do it, and now I am.
The intermediate Spanish course officially starts next week. It is much more intense than the last beginners course I did, so I thought I’d get a head start and start it this week.
The course lasts for 9 months, unlike a year with the beginners, and there are 4 assignments due in total, with exams at the end of it. There are two weekly evening tutorials and one separate tutorial a month at a local college. I have no idea how this will fit into work, if I do end up finding a job but in the meantime this will definitely keep me busy whilst I job hunt!
Since working in the legal profession (and struggling with it, at most times) I have been able to see that most of the firms I have worked at do not provide a mentoring scheme or a scheme where university students can interact with qualified solicitors or even those working in the profession to give current students a real and honest example of working life in the legal profession.
I have to admit whilst I was doing the LPC I had the opportunity of having a mentor look through my cv and give me general advice. It was great as I could ask anything and I felt less nervous about any fears I had. Thankfully I am still in touch with her too!
So now it’s almost as if its my turn to give similar advice, or I feel I can to students who need it the most. I have signed up to the Nottingham Trent University’s mentor scheme. I will be available via email to advise and help any student at the university.
Not only will this look great on my cv but I feel as if I am giving something back to the university, after the education I was provided there. I am definitely a fan of helping out where I can. I have been through, and still am, going through the struggle in this profession so I may as well use my so called “expertise” and experiences to help others!

So after a whole year of studying beginners Spanish I finally found out today that I passed!! Yay!! The intermediate course, which I have now signed up for, starts next February and is for 9 months! I just hope I can cope with the harder stuff

So far I have learnt to say this……..

I saw the remake of this movie when it was out a while ago and recently found that there was a contest for the cliffhanger [literally!!] at the end of this movie. Could they actually get away with the gold without dying from the bus on the edge of the cliff?
The Royal Society of Chemistry created a competition to find a scientific solution to their problem of getting the gold at the end without dying of course.
