Last week I posted a song by a certain artist on a certain shiteous record label, which I shall not name….yet. I didn’t realise until after that the actual song I posted was possibly copyrighted material. I received a comment on my blog which stated that if said link of the song, which was on YouTube, wasn’t removed then they could possibly sue me. Funny thing is I’m a Law graduate. I guess I should have known better BUT and it’s a big but i posted a link from YouTube. Had I included the link to download that song directly then yeah maybe I was infringing their copyright but I wasn’t the actual owner of the video which was on YouTube. Maybe YouTube should have deleted beforehand like they tend to delete all infringing material. That is the most frustrating bit AND on top of all of that I don’t actually own this site it’s actually just a part of the owners site. Therefore because of this ‘copyrighted material’ not only did my own blog go, but so did the rest of the owner’s site! [oops!] It sounds completely unfair when it was simply an innocent posting of a video of a song that I liked. I have posted so many videos mostly from YouTube, and most of them were deleted by YouTube sooner or later. I would have thought that said record label would love the fact that they got free publicity but I guess not.

Now I have no idea on what I’m gonna be posting as YouTube may not be the choice of site for now! I so do not want the whole of locksleynet to be shut down again so we’ll c! I guess I’ll have to think of something a lil more creative..so watch this space!
