For the past year I have been studying beginners Spanish with the Open University. A whole year of mind boggling online tutorials every week and 6 whole assessments later it is all over! Not to mention the speaking and writing end of course assessment that I just completed! I have no idea when the results will be out but I have pleasure in knowing I have at least passed (as told by my tutor).
I can’t believe a whole year of studying has literally flown by. My vague memory of French from secondary school has completely gone! It has been replaced with little tiny bits of Spanish that I now know. The worst thing was when I was in Tunisia and I kept saying si instead of oui (as they speak French there!!)
Now that it’s over, I don’t really feel as if I know a lot of the language. I could definitely not hold a conversation in Spanish unless it was practiced or revised beforehand. That is bad seeing as I have been studying the subject for a whole year. I really do want to hold a proper conversation in Spanish so I am definitely contemplating studying the intermediate level of Spanish with the Open University. The course is only for 9 months and there are fewer assessments. Definitely ticking all the right boxes so far!!
p.s those are the 6 books I had to complete on this course!!

Congrats on getting through it all!
