iPhone 3G SOLD OUT
Within an hour of going on the O2 website for pre-orders, the phone had sold out in the UK! - Crashing the O2 site in it’s wake!
Over 200,000 eager people (including myself) hammered the O2 website on Monday to try and secure their shiny new order for the iPhone
! Only O2 will know how many were successful though, as many people are saying it was a huge marketing ploy from the network provider to generate hype for the official launch on friday.
This could quite possibly be true, since it’s what Nintendo had done with their DS hand held console . They generated so much ‘out of stock’ hype that demand for the little gadget soared and they seemed impossible to get for months!
Will I be one of the sad folks queuing outside the shop to get an iPhone? I’d have to say…

Sony Ericsson C905 8 Megapixel
Talk about raising the bar!
After going on about wanting a new iPhone (which I will still get anyway), Sony Ericsson folks have gone and crushed all the other phones out there with one blow!
Imagine 8 megapixels, xenon flash, high speed 3G, walkman and a phone all in one. Sound good? Well it is good! If only there was some kind of collaboration with SE and Apple right now then I would be able to get the perfect phone.

iPhone 2 confirmed
You have probably already heard the announcement of the new iPhone? Well, it’s nearly here. On 11 July 2008 at a time currently unknown to me stores around the world will simultaneously release the new iPhone for all of us to play with. Lets face it, thats the reason you get an iPhone right? To play with? not to make phone calls surely?
After some time to think about it, I have decided I will be joining the mass of people outside my nearest o2 store waiting to get my hands on the gadget!

iPhone vs the rest
It has been about a year since the iPhone hit the shops in the US and about 8 months since it did so here in the UK. This whole time I have been one of the people saying ‘nah, what’s so good about the iPhone?’, despite the fact it’s got an amazing user menu and doubles up as a proper mp3 player too!
Well, it’s about time to make my mind up. My phone contract is about to expire and it’s time for an upgrade. I am currently using the Sony Ericsson P1i, but as I realised not long after getting it - it’s not the greatest Sony Ericsson I could have got! Also, despite having top technology in all their phones, Sony Ericsson phones are sometimes boring to use!
So, now comes the time to decide. Do I stay loyal and get another Sony Ericsson phone (Xperia X1), or do I get an iPhone?
If Internet rumours are anything to go by, the iPhone will soon be replaced with a newer, better, faster version in June 2008. So, maybe I’ll just hang on till this is confirmed.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1
I think I have found my new phone. As mentioned before, I currently have a Sony Ericsson P1i but will be looking for a replacement pretty soon. I generally tend to get Sony Ericsson phones because they have a lot of new features before other models and they always look かわいい (Cool)!
From first impressions, this phone when released looks to be the main contender in the SE smartphone lineup.
The phone has a MASSIVE 800 x 480 pixel screen touch screen - imagine what high quality digital pictures look like on that!
A couple other things to note. Sony Ericsson has decided not to use their own Memory Stick format with this phone, instead opting for an expandable mirco SD card memory slot! The phone does come with 400MB built in though, so enough to get you started.

Japan brings technology to toilets
As I have said before, talking about toilets is not a normal thing for me to do. Unless there is something cool about them, or they look like this one above.
This photo was taken in Japan and shows that some places in the high tech country are still have old fashioned when it comes to basic things like toilets!
Imagine seeing this in a bar when you are on a night out, or when you just couldn’t wait till you got home and had to go to a public toilet!
However, don’t let this put you off going to Japan. They have some new ‘posh’ ones for your home now :-). Ones with heated seats, auto flush and even accept SD cards for the built in mp3 player - as standard! The seats are even angled for when you are throwing up to make it easier! Every student should have one!
Oh yea, it even has a night light so you can see where your (fill in the blank) is going! Look at this diagram highlighting the ‘benefits’ below!

PS3 on a cinema screen
I had no idea this was possible! You can actually hire an entire room in a cinema just to play your PS3 or Xbox 360 games!

Apple lovers
It seems Apple are going for global domination of the technology markets. First they had their comeback with the iPod, which has quickly become the undisputed number one in personal media players and practically re-launched the brand. Despite being a Sony lover, I am slowly starting to see the Apple at the end of the tunnel.
I see Apple products everywhere I look! For example, I am currently using iTunes to play my music and have a tab open in Firefox to gawk at the new MacBook Air, featured below.
MacBook Air
This is the world’s thinnest laptop (notebook) computer! At first I just thought ‘yea yea, Apple again replacing another computer’ but then I looked at the pictures (below) and was amazed!

iPhree! Hands free with your iPhone?
This commercial shows how hard it is to manage every day tasks when using an iPhone at the same time. Well, apparently, that will be a thing of the past with this new must have gadget iPhree!

Sony Cyber-shot obsession
These are my past 3 pocket digital cameras.. The first one is the blue Sony DSC-U20, my first venture out into the world of digital Cameras! This was a 2.0 megapixel camera, probably entry specs at the time. It was my first time of seeing Memory Stick, Sony’s ‘relatively new’ memory format at the time. I remember thinking it was so small, which it was compared to other formats at the time. It served me well for the few years I had it, although I didn’t exactly use it that much. At the time I was still into my ‘classic’ photos using an old style film camera.
As you can probably see, the second one has so far been through the most usage. Its my Sony DSC-T7 I have taken around 6200+ photos in the 2 and a half years I have had it and it has been with me round the world. This was a step up from the last camera as it is 5.1 megapixels, which was about mid range for pocket cameras when I got this in 2005. I was only really worried about ‘pocketability’ when buying this one so I got it since it was at one point the worlds thinnest camera at 9.8mm at the thinnest point! This was my first encounter with MS Duo cards (its amazing how these things keep getting smaller all the time!)
The most recent addition is my Sony DSC-T2 and I love it!

Robo Orchestra!
This is the musical robot Toyota unveiled today in Tokyo! Its main skill is definitely playing the violin! This was just one in a series of new robots Toyota is promising will change our lives!
They have launched a few others as well each with specific purposes. The main purpose of the one above is to walk and help the elderly. It can use its hands to perform a wide variety of tasks, including playing the violin!
Others include one that people can mount and sit on, similar to a chair as seen here
I can’t see myself being one of the people splashing out on one of these ‘companions’ but I can see how after a bit of development they could see them being a regular thing to expect in someones house to do cleaning, washing up etc. Hopefully it won’t get to a stage where they try to take over the world like in films such as I, Robot! ![]()

Battle of the consoles!
It seems that Christmas has thrown everyone into a frenzy of gamers! Who doesn’t want a Nintendo Wii, PS3 or an XBox 360 this Christmas?
Well, I know I’ll be there tagged with wanting a PS3. Not so much for the gaming side to it, but I think its more about the Blu-Ray capabilities. I am yet to experience watching a Blu-Ray quality movie (similar to HD DVD), but I hear nothing but good things about the quality of them! They do cost a lot more than regular DVDs but the superior quality should hopefully make it all worth it. Just had a look at the PS3 website and the trailers for some of the games are just QUALITY!
To be honest I haven’t played on a console for about 12 months but I will still be putting a PS3 on my ‘Christmas list’. I have tried to think what makes me think I’ll use the console when I get it and come up with nothing. I think its just having one that counts! Now what to do with good old PS2, NDS and old style Xbox that I have collecting dust
?

Go to the toilet in style!
So, its not usual that I’d pay any attention to a TOILET!! But when it looks like this you kinda can’t help but look at it eh? Would you really trust yourself going to the toilet in this?! I don’t think I’d dare lol! If this was in my house it would be a ‘just for show’ toilet!

- $75,000 price tag
Yea so probably unlikey I’d let you use it if you came over to my house haha, sorry! But if you thought that toilet was crazy then take a peek at this one
