Smoking Ban Really Stinks

Smoking Ban Really Stinks

When the smoking ban came into effect last July, I was looking forward to being able to go out to clubs, bars and restaurants without smelling of cigarettes.

Little did I know that the tobacco smell was actually masking the other smells that lurked in these very places.

As much as I do not like smoke, maybe there needs to be some in the clubs and bars around the UK.

These days, rather than being greeted with a cloud of smoke, I am being greeted with the smell of armpits and feet. Or even worse, people ‘passing gas’. I think it’s sick

Nottingham Eye

Nottingham Eye

Not quite the London Eye, but I’ll name this new ‘big wheel’ in Nottingham city centre the Nottingham Eye for now. It’s 60 metres high, which is tall by Nottingham standards. Meaning you can see over the tops of any of the buildings in the city.

Nottingham, UK

So, where is Nottingham anyway? I hear you ask.. Here you will find a map.

The city is approximately 127 miles north of London for those of you who still have no idea where it is.

Nottingham is a vibrant developing city in the heart of the UK. It has direct links to all the other major cities in the UK including London, Birmingham and Manchester. The city is currently going through a great deal of major redevelopment. The Old Market Square (a large open space in the city centre surrounded by shops and bars) has been completely transformed into a modern work of art. It was already the focal point of the city centre and when completed boosted the already astounding architecture of Nottingham. There are also major works going on around the city centre, including the introduction of a few complexes with student accommodation for hundreds of students as well as new restaurants and shops to add to the city’s already thriving social scene!
