Dinner in the sky

Dinner in the sky

Is it just me, or are these people absolutely MAD!

They are having dinner in the sky! Suspended from a crane at heights of up to 160ft! I am not exactly scared of heights (since I like to travel and get on a plane all the time). But, when it comes to hanging from a crane at a dinner table with up to 22 other people there eating too - I think it’s fair to make an exception! Look at the pics below to see how crazy they actually are!

Thai boxing

Thai boxing

I have been thinking of ways to keep fit and come up with a few ideas. Going to the gym being top of the list, eating healthily ranks somewhere near the top too. Well, I have already cut out the Coca Cola since I was addicted to the stuff. Also, chocolates too have now been eliminated from my diet. The thing is with me, it’s probably not so much what I eat, but how much I eat!

One thing I would really like to do more often is play tennis. It’s one of the few sports I actually like! However, many of my friends don’t seem to share the same enthusiasm to play any sport other than football, a sport which ranks nowhere on my list of things to do when bored.

So, ball sports aside, I have been looking at martial arts. I am always trying crazy things like balancing on one arm in hand stand position, back flips into swimming pools, jumping off walls and over bins. So, since I can’t see myself joining a Parkour group I thought I’d check out a few martial arts. Muy Thai being one of them. A few of my weird moves might come in handy when trying to flying kick someone :???: , well maybe..

Panic Buy Carrots

Panic Buy Carrots

This is possibly the funniest thing I have seen on Facebook! Who comes up with these ideas? Panic buy carrots?! Well, let’s see if there is a shortage on May 15th 2008!

Description from the Facebook group

Basically, a few nights ago, when I was very very drunk, I came up with the idea that everybody should go out and panic buy a certain product on a specific day.

I’m not quite sure what the reason behind this is is, other than the fact that a global shortage of carrots would be quite a laugh.

So, what I’m asking everybody to do, is on the 15th May, 2008 go out and buy a load of carrots. IF EVERYBODY DOES THIS, WE CAN MAKE THIS GLOBAL SHORTAGE OF CARROTS HAPPEN!

Alcoholic vending machines

Alcoholic vending machines

Did you know that you can get alcohol from vending machines in Japan?

No? Well, neither did I until I came across this info..  yes, Asahi is alcoholic - it’s Japanese beer!

I do wonder how they monitor who is buying the alcohol? Looks to me like a kid could walk down the street and get some if there isn’t anything to verify age.

Here in the UK we have extra strict guidelines on how old someone can be to buy alcohol, for obvious reasons given the rate of binge drinking going on!

Check out some more of the vending machines below selling alcohol in Japan! Here we are lucky to find one selling anything but Coke, but variety seems to be priority in Japan!

All meat is potentially offensive

All meat is potentially offensive

Well, the picture above shows a cow about to be slaughtered by some kind of spinning sawblade. Look at that hanging cow. It was apparently in the same position moments before.

Well the Indian government is proposing taking legal action against the mass factory farming of cows! I eat beef occasionally and yes, that pic is pretty sickening. I also eat chicken though and I am sure a picture of them being slaughtered would also be pretty disturbing.

Fast Noodle Snack

Fast Noodle Snack

I recently went into a Chinese shop and bought some noodles. What I failed to notice until I got back was that the instructions were all in Chinese. Ok, yes so maybe it should be obvious if I go to get noodles from a Chinese shop then maybe the instructions will be in Chinese.

I have put this up to show what I did to turn these dry noodles into something edible.
Noodles are not the hardest things to cook, but some people might have struggled, since its not in English.

They are chilli noodles (which I especially like) and they included chopsticks in the pack! All for just £0.99! Is this expensive for noodles?

Step by step, this is what I did..

  • Firstly peel off the plastic packaging and have a glance at the instructions, if you can understand them then you need read no more ^^;
Do you like noodles?

Supersize me! Disgraceful insight to McDonalds!

Supersize me! Disgraceful insight to McDonalds!

I know this is an ‘old’ movie now but I am probably one of the few who thought this movie would be a waste of time and no point going to see. Well, I’ll take back those thoughts. I am surprised at the low level of general knowledge people have when it comes to junk food!

Super Size Me is just absolutely mad! I couldn’t believe I didn’t see this sooner! It shows a man (Morgan Spurlock) on a mission to eat only things on the McDonald’s menu for a whole month! Personally I couldn’t even imagine the thought of eating nothing but fast food for even a week. There have definitely been occasions where I will have had fast food at least once every single day for a month. However, that will have been maybe because I had ‘no choice’, such examples when I am at work and the only thing apart from canteen slop is pizza and chips :???: or similar.

To eat or not to eat

To eat or not to eat

Have a careful look at this picture. I’ll come back to it in a bit. I always like to think I am very open minded when it comes to food. I like to try anything new and exciting. Pizza is cool every now and then, but its a bit too ‘normal’ though right? Chicken will always be my main love as far as I am concerned, but its good to branch out a little. I eat sushi every now and then, take away food isn’t ever quite the same as the proper eat-in stuff, so I like to vary the food I eat.

I went for dinner at Rajah in Nottingham (I could not find a website for the actual restaurant) on Christmas Eve. It was smaller than I had expected on the inside yet had a wide variety on the menu which was nice! I usually try to balance finding something I haven’t tried before with something I think I will actually eat. All my decision making is based on the description in the menu, I try to avoid other people’s personal opinions of things.
