Smoking Ban Really Stinks
When the smoking ban came into effect last July, I was looking forward to being able to go out to clubs, bars and restaurants without smelling of cigarettes.
Little did I know that the tobacco smell was actually masking the other smells that lurked in these very places.
As much as I do not like smoke, maybe there needs to be some in the clubs and bars around the UK.
These days, rather than being greeted with a cloud of smoke, I am being greeted with the smell of armpits and feet. Or even worse, people ‘passing gas’. I think it’s sick
If you’d have told me beforehand that people actually smell like this when they go out, then maybe I’d have not supported the smoking ban quite as much as I did. So, there are a few possible explanations. Either people generally smell when they go out, or the clubs do not clean up enough. Well, this is what seems to be the case for all the major clubs in Nottingham. I can’t speak for the whole of the UK, but I imagine similar must be happening across the country.
We have all been there, dancing away when someone brushes past you covered in a layer of warm sweat and an invisible cloud of stink trailing behind them. But, usually once they have gone the smell also disappears. Not any more, when some doors are opened in clubs it is like a blast of UFO (Unidentified Freakin’ Odour) to the face
The thought that I am writing this in February, when we are experiencing extreme winter nights and spring like days makes me dread the months to come as it gets warmer and more people start to break out in a sweat
Maybe a ’stink check’ before people go into clubs should be called for? I do not know which is worse, secondary smoking, or inhaling people’s BO.

yes you do speak sense, not sure which odours are more damaging to your health!

True, I am sure sure inhaling people’s armpit sweat and cheesy feet can’t be too beneficial to health
