I’ve had to repost this one because somehow the original one managed to disappear!
There are a lot of photos to go through so you might need to wait while the page loads the previews
There was just so much going on there it is hard to not love the place. Some people say that they couldn’t live somewhere so ‘busy’ but I know for sure that I definitely could. I like the fact that you have the option to go out and have so much choice for everything from food to clothes. But mainly food.
Going up the Empire State building was great fun! I think it’s one of those things you have got to do in New York as a tourist. I spoke to a couple who actually live there and they have never even been up! I get asked all the time about London whenever I go away, because people assume that if you are in the UK you are from London
However, that is not the case in case anyone doesn’t know. So I haven’t done half of the tourist things to do down there. I have done just about everything there is to do in Nottingham though, oh joy…
There are USA flags everywhere! I noticed them on fire trucks, buildings, monuments, uniforms, buses and other vehicles. They were just everywhere! Very patriotic place.
I went to Ground Zero, the site of the September 11, 2001 tragedy. There is some major construction work going on there. I hear they are going to build the tallest building in New York, as well as a memorial garden to pay tribute to the lives lost in the tragedy.
I like the colours in the Chinatown photos and the fact that everyone was out in the blistering cold! It was soooo cold most days I could hardly take the pictures because my fingers just wouldn’t move!
Times Square was pretty awesome as well! All those lights, all the shops.. Most importantly, the FOOD! There were so many restaurants clustered in the surrounding streets! Of course, I had to get a picture of me at Wall Street. Since my future office is going to be based there, when I am making milions n all.
Night-time in New York City is nearly as busy as during the day. The place really is a 24 hour city! We enjoyed the city from street level most nights, but one night we went to the top of the Rockefeller Center. That was pretty spectacular! We got a similar view as we did from the Empire State building, but we got to see the lights so it was even better!
