Me and my afro at the Carnival!
It was carnival time this weekend! The weather was great and there were many people out in the sun enjoying themselves. I had NO IDEA this was happening until someone mentioned they were going so I had to Google it – ugh. Glad I did though.. The first day (Saturday 4th July) was OK, not the greatest.. There weren’t as many people there as I had initially hoped, so I figured I’d go for day 2 and try see some more 
My good friend Laura had my camera most of the time and took some photos below, I think there are about 250 that made it to the website! I shot the videos which I will update later.
Loading ...Generally the atmosphere was excellent. A huge variety of people together enjoying the music, food and acts together in the sun. It was so hot! The ‘headline’ act was of course Beeni Man, a controversial reggae artist from Jamaica who was held back till last to keep the crowd there.. That was a problem at times because the crowd were occasionally restless with all the random people that came on stage holding up the show.. I think they were churning out as many people that needed a little promotion but it wasn’t helping the crowd who only wanted to see the man himself Beeni!
What was wrong with the crowd though? Don’t get me wrong, there was no trouble, but everyone was too still! Even when the DJ tried his best to get people dancing and screaming, people were just like statues! I did want to dance, but I looked around and soon realised I would just be putting on a show for everyone rather than just enjoying the music together..

Oh yes, do not forget there will be PLENTY more music, sun and fun on this site after I get back from Benicassim music festival which I will head of to this weekend coming

more people dancing and seeming like they having a good time would have made it better definately.. but I enjoyed myself.
could you please email me your pics from the nottingham carnival. My youth group were in the parade and dance…we were the blue space people with blue wigs and things.
Really enjoyed the carnival but our designated photographer ran out of batteries.
