I have just been browsing some other sites in my favourites and came across this video from Jamaipanese and it really made me wish i was back in Jamaica.  At least for a bit!

I think it was seeing all the food that really made me want to go back!  I remember getting real Tastee pattys, mmm.  100% better than the imitations they make here in the UK which I am sure are just to cater to the masses here who have never been to Jamaica that think  it’s real Jamaican food

It has now been over 10 years since I last went to Jamaica, yet through photos and family discussions, I don’t feel like I ever really lost touch of my roots.  We have Jamaican food all the time at home courtesy of my parents since I can’t really cook..

Part 1

The second part mentions crime in Jamaica.  I think that a lot of people dwell on crime statistics a little too much and take it too literally.  Everywhere has crime..  It’s not so long ago, people were saying Nottingham (where I live) was reportedly the city with the highest gun crime rate in the UK.  Yet, I have never seen or heard a single gun shot.  I don’t know anyone who has been shot etc etc.  I think the media like to grab your attention and inflate small facts out of proportion till they become nearly fact in the heads of the people being brain-washed.

Ready to book your flight?  Well, I felt like I was going to just pack and leave after seeing the videos.  I now realise that I do actually miss Jamaica.
