Just got back from Berlin last night, was so tired I could barely stay awake on the plane / coach ride back. Well, went there with 5 other workmates and had such a good time! Felt a bit ignorant while I was there because I didn’t know a single word of German.. Felt like a stereotypical English tourist, (expecting everyone to understand English). Not good, lol. Will def learn at least some common phrases for the next place I go to.. Definitely!

Only there from 22/09/06 – 25/09/06… Seemed a bit longer though.. For a capital city I had expected more though.. People seemed to be sparse and for a country with a much larger population than England I had expected their capital to have a similar ‘buzz’ to London.. Not a chance of that.. Finding things like cash machines and bins (two simple necessities) was a mission. They were nowhere to be seen.. But yet when you actually did find one, there were loads of them back to back!! Was quite strange I thought.. There was the homeless guy who seemed to dance for money and the graffiti EVERYWHERE (often pretty good though)! getting told to be quiet by police twice and nearly getting thrown out by the manager of where we stayed was pretty crazy!! As well as all the shops / bars with funny (in English) names, then mannequin that must have had implants haha!

Loving the European culture though. everyone chilling out all the time everywhere. Random seats and chairs popping out of walls in random places and I’m sure the entire population must have had laptops?! We seemed to be the only people in the cafes without laptops. Took some cool pictures and there were some nights when we all seemed to love this guy…

Yes of course.. BORAT.. (You had to be there to understand..)

Really good to see people outside of work though! We need to do this again some time!!
